3.  OXYGEN DROPS

Reader 1--

"i've been using the oxygen drops for about a week. i'm having
excellent results. fatigue has been reduced and i'm sleeping better.
i'm not completely well yet, but i'm hopeful that i can continue to
improve."

FROM DOM:  I continue to feel very well also on the oxygenating drops - no brain fog, no more debilitating fatigue!  Still have to take sleep meds though (have had the sleep disorder since age 16, which was 41 years ago).

Reader 2--

"I wanted to let you know that I did end up getting really sick yesterday from taking too much of the oxygen drops at a much faster pace.
I was up to 8-10 drops within a 10 day period ...and yesterday I woke up with really loose stools ..then 2 hours later while working .. my stomach started to cramp up horribly and I felt like I was going to vomit .. my mouth was watery .. but I had to get through my work day so I fought the urge .. I stopped the oxygen yesterday late morning and when I woke up today I felt sooo much better .. I re-started taking  the oxygen drops tonight ...using only  3 drops .. and will increase it slowly....I learned my lesson.  I was just so eager to get better fast .. that it backfired .. may want to let others know that you really do need to increase it slowly."

FROM DOM:  Yep!  You really don't want to detox this fast.  I recommend getting the book that comes with the drops, because it explains everything in detail (however, please excuse the typos...)  Start with ONLY 1-2 drops in 8 oz. of purified water 3 times a day.  Add a drop every several days!!  At the end of 30 days, you might be up to 10 drops in 8 oz.  I have been using the drops for 5 weeks now and feel great.  I'm using 8 drops and sticking with that for now.

4.  "YOU'VE SLEPT WITH 2.8 MILLION PEOPLE"

From a reader--

"This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO disgusting!  http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,26116755-12377,00.htm.  How people could sleep around in this day and age is totally beyond me! One in three people has a DIAGNOSED STD. That doesn't take into account those who don't know they have one or have more than one that they aren't aware of. Man! I am so glad I am married to a faithful man!"

5.  LACK OF OXYGEN IN AUTOIMMUNE CONDITIONS

Article sent in by a reader--

"Oxygen, or rather the lack of it at the cellular level, may cause many problems in autoimmune diseases. Decreased oxygen to the left side of the brain can result in the short-term memory loss. And may be a factor in the long term malfunctioning of glandular and hormonal systems in the brain.

In addition, buildup of fibrin on the walls of the blood vessels creates low oxygen areas where cells cannot produce an adequate amount of energy. And may be the reason a common symptom in autoimmune diseases is cold fingers or feet, tingly legs and that type of thing. Oxygen is also needed to oxidize and detoxify toxins. When cells don’t have enough oxygen, they are not able to detoxify themselves adequately. And they won’t be able to produce adequate amounts of energy, which may be a major cause of fatigue.

Oxygen kills anaerobic bacteria, mycoplasma and viruses. It works so well it is used to purify water in many cities. (Ozonation.) Why isn’t it used more often with autoimmune diseases?

First, when breathing, you are limited by the amount of oxygen that can be picked up by the hemoglobin in the blood. It may be difficult to increase oxygen levels dramatically by just breathing. And the drawback to oxygen supplements, the reason they have proven not to be very effective, is that your typical liquid oxygen supplements such as hydrogen peroxide or Vitamin O or whatever, have no way to get oxygen into the cells. The delivery system is lacking. And as the mycoplasma and viruses reside primarily inside cells, and as it is cells that need the extra oxygen the most, these products are limited in their capacity to help.

If you want to fight mycoplasmas and viruses with oxygen, you need to produce oxygen inside the cells. Get enough oxygen into the cells, and it may help with the whole range of oxygen deficiencies."

FROM DOM:  The oxygen drops I began using 6 weeks ago must be highly effective.  I have had NO brain fog, debilitating fatigue, or horrible brain and heart exploding/crushing feelings, etc. since I began using the drops in my drinking water.

7.  HYPERBARIC OXYGEN

Please reply directly Glen glen-don@xtra.co.nz--

"I wonder if any readers have tried hyperbaric oxygen therapy (I have heard you need several treatments which are very expensive) and it has been very helpful for FMS and TBI.  This is only hearsay and I was wondering whether or not it is as good as I have been told. - Glen glen-don@xtra.co.nz"

FROM DOM:  Try a search in my newsletter archives at www.fms-help.com/newsletters.htm - I've discussed hyperbaric oxygen many times.  There is a facility that does hyperbaric oxygen 50 miles from where I live and it costs $85 per session, which is beyond my ability to try it.  However, I am doing great with the oxygen drops!  No fatigue or crashes or fog since I started using it 5 weeks ago.

8.  GUAIFENESIN

From a reader--

"What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia" - This book is completely different from anything else I have read about stopping the pain of  Fibromyalgia. Let me know what you think about this www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com.

FROM DOM:  My mail runs 50/50 about the guai protocol.  You can search my newsletter archives at www.fms-help.com/newsletters.htm - search for guai, or guiafenesin, or St. Amand.  It is a difficult protocol to follow, from what I hear, but successful for many.  I'm for anything that helps!  If you tried the guai protocol and want to talk about your results, write dombush@bellsouth.net.  Also, visit my 100 Tips for Coping with Fibromyalgia at www.fms-help.com/tips.htm for more ideas.

9.  CFS & VIRAL INFECTIONS

From a reader--

"My immunologist is wonderful, though he's not very talkative. :)  He diagnosed me with CFS several years ago after I had mono and parvo b19 virus at the same time and never regained all my strength. This is when I read about CFS being caused by viral infections, such as the Epstein Barr virus which is also known as the herpesvirus 4... it is in the herpes virus family but is not the one that causes shingles, which is the zoster one. We did a few rounds of antivirals when it would flare up and I'm not sure if they really helped or not as my symptoms would come and go as I was figuring out what I could and could no longer do. I've recently had a bad flareup over the last couple months (which prompted my stumbling upon your website!) and went back to the immunologist, who gave me acyclovir to try. I'm about a week into treatment and feel only slightly better. I could only find one study online (http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/abstract/319/26/1692) about acyclovir being used to treat the Epstein-Barr virus with mixed results. I'm going to continue taking the acyclovir and will be ordering those oxygen drops soon."

FROM DOM:  My doc said that continuing on maintenance doses of acyclovir to prevent cold sores was toxic to the kidneys, so I'm glad I found something else for cold sore relief - DMSO & oxygen drops, which also helped the horrible brain fog I was having.

10.  TRAVELING WITH MEDS & BRAIN FOG

From a reader--

"re: Traveling w/ Meds: I can affirm that what Shelley said is true re/ having any meds on you when traveling. Yes, if you are even pulled over for something minor and they find ANY meds at all that can be known to change your mental focus (the list is very long - I think you can get a print out from the highway patrol or google it) they can charge you with DWI. A close family member of mine was in a minor accident a few years back that wasn't her fault. She had meds for her FMS and was taken off in the police car. Eventually, after months of horrible trauma around it, legal fees, court appearances, etc. she got off it but it will be on her record. She had muscle relaxers and other things and did refuse the drug test because she knew they were in her system. I honestly don't know if in fact she had enough to effect her mental focus, but I know they really antagonized her and were very hard on her. Also the officer who arrested her told her that even if all she had taken was BENADRYL she would still have been charged as that's one of many medications on their "list". So it doesn't matter even if it's over the counter stuff - we must be very careful! I think there are some newer laws - not sure if they are national or state to state - that basically say you are responsible for ANY substance that effects your mental ability when driving and you can be charged if using that substance while behind the wheel of a car smf you break a law, are in an accident, etc.

As for an answer for Shelley, this is all I know...you should never mix/combine pills into one bottle - even supplements and over the counter things as it can raise lots of questioning.  All meds must be in the prescription bottle they came from w/ a current up to date label. Supplements and over the counter things should be in their original containers as well.  Some supplements are also on the list of things that can "hinder mental ability" when driving - for example melatonin. Yes, ideally if you can get a list from your doc of what you take and why that would be best. However, few docs would want to give this as it could make them liable too if you are charged with anything.

After my family member went through this horrible experience, I am very careful now when I drive. I don't bring meds with me unless I absolutely have to and I really think about how alert I am. For me, just a usual brain fog day puts me at a greater risk of being pulled over so I try and avoid driving on the bad days. I really am careful to follow all traffic laws and look around me when I drive. I make sure my car is in good repair too. So I recommend to all with FMS to be careful of this and also consider the severity of your brain fog."

FROM DOM:  Wow!  I'm shocked!  I carry a pill organizer in my purse with an assortment of meds and supplements that I might need when away from home. They would throw the book at me!  I better drive carefully. If I had to put everything in it's original container I would need to carry an extra handbag!  Maybe not a bad idea.

11. DON'T BLAME FLU SHOTS FOR ALL ILLS, OFFICIALS SAY

From a reader--

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/28/health/policy/28vaccine.html?_r=1&th&emc=th - [short snippet]  "As soon as swine flu vaccinations start next month, some people getting them will drop dead of heart attacks or strokes, some children will have seizures and some pregnant women will miscarry.  But those events will not necessarily have anything to do with the vaccine. That poses a public relations challenge for federal officials, who remember how sensational reports of deaths and illnesses derailed the large-scale flu vaccine drive of 1976."

12.  CELL PHONES MAY CAUSE BRAIN TUMORS

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/09/29/More-Confirmation-That-Cell-Phones-Cause-Brain-Tumors.aspx

FROM DOM:  I had a friend from church years ago whose very healthy husband used a cell phone constantly for 20 years supervising roadworking crews.  Suddenly, one night at the age of 47, he developed an extremely severe headache - bad enough to go to the E.R.  They did a scan and found a glioblastoma multiforma cancerous mass with tenacles going through his brain.  By Sunday he was paralyzed on one side. The neurosurgeon advised not to operate - he said if it were him or his family he would not go through it, because even if you could remove the mass, the tenacles would continue to grow further into the brain.  My friend and her husband did NOT want him to go through this surgery followed by radiation to the brain that would cause seizures - and then he would eventually die.  However, they were over-ruled by my friend's husband's family - quite large in number - who wanted him to "do everything" to stay alive and kill the cancer in his brain.  I was with my friend when her husband was wheeled out of the first brain surgery, and he mouthed the words to her, "I love you!"  That was the beginning of some torturous months for them.  He suffered terribly from the treatments, and this was so hard on his devoted wife.  By the time he died 18 months later, he looked nothing like the man we used to know.  Actually, his name was Donnie (same as my husband) and he and I shared the same birthday.  As the months went by, his head became swollen from the radiation and surgeries.  But in his own words, he was glad he lived those extra months because he got to spend more time with his grandchildren - usually he had a grandbaby on his lap as he laid unmoving in his recliner in the living room.  Anyway, these dear friends and what they went through is what I think of when I read articles about cell phone damage to the brain.  At the rate kids are texting and using cell phones and other electronic gadgets, I hope we are not headed for a serious health crisis in this country.

13.  U.S. TO BREAK UP SOON?

From a reader--

http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2009/cbarchive_20090929.html  - A historian and linguist from South Africa recently wrote me a fascinating letter, in which he chronicled the major world empires of history, dating the time of their rise and fall. Here is what his calculations look like:
Assyria (859-612 B.C.): a 247-year reign.
Persia (538-330 B.C.): a 208-year reign.
Greece (331-100 B.C.): a 231-year reign.
The Roman Republic (260-27 B.C.): a 233-year reign.
The Roman Empire (27 B.C.-180 A.D.): a 207-year reign.
The Arab Empire (634-880 A.D.): a 246-year reign.
The Mameluke Empire (1250-1517 A.D.): a 267-year reign.
The Ottoman Empire (1320-1570 A.D.): a 250-year reign.
Spain (1500-1750 A.D.): a 250-year reign.
Romanov Russia (1682-1916 A.D.): a 234-year reign.
Great Britain (1700-1950 A.D.): a 250-year reign.
The USA (1790-2009 A.D.): 219 years and counting.

FROM DOM:  II Timothy 3:1-7   "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof."

14.  INVIGOREST FOR SLEEP

From a reader--

"I use a product from www.restandrepair.com.  It's called Invigorest.   I have had insomnia for 4 yrs and have tried everything natural to be able to get some sleep but nothing ever worked.  I used Xanax those 4 yrs and it did help me sleep but I hated using a prescription drug.  I ordered the Invigorest  thinking I have nothing to lose except a few bucks if it didn't work.  This product is fantastic.  I've used it a couple of  weeks now and I sleep.  Wow!!  You can put it in juice or whatever or put it directly on the tongue and hold it there until you have to swallow.  It's a powder and tastes something like sweet tarts.  I put it on my tongue right before I hit the pillow and I'm usually asleep in 15 min.  I will wake up in a few hrs and then I put another small amount on my tongue and I'm out again for the rest of the night.  It takes a little while to wake up in the morning but once awake you feel great.  Just follow the directions on the canister and see how much each individual person will need to use  It can vary from person to person.  Please all insomniacs - this is worth a try.  I do hope the Invigorest works for you.  It was an answer to prayer for me."

FROM DOM:  Wow!  I sure would love to try Invigorest, but I did some research and it contains L-arginine, which is an amino acid that triggers cold sores in those who are prone to them. I have been plagued with ever worsening cold sores for the past 10 years - until just recently when I found the oxygenating drops and DMSO cream!   On the other hand, L-lysine (the opposite amino acid from L-arginine) is supposed to eliminate cold sore outbreaks, but L-lysine never worked for me, so maybe the L-arginine won't trigger them???  (reverse reasoning).  Does anyone have info?  I would be most grateful for your thoughts.  I sure would love to try the Invigorest but don't need any more trouble with cold sores.  Everything is going so smoothly right now.  Life is sure easy when you have enough oxygen and a healthy pH.  Insomnia has been a major health problem for me since I was 16! www.fms-help.com/insomnia.htm.  I am now 57 and have to take meds to sleep or I would die from lack of sleep.  I sure would love to try this natural product that worked for a trusted reader. Please write dombush@bellsouth.net if you have any information to share.

15.  "RESCUED BY OXYGEN"

From a reader--

"Here is an article on FM and oxygen from Alive, a Canadian natural health magazine - http://www.alive.com/679a2a2.php."

FROM DOM: WOW!!  Especially interesting to me were the comments about oxygen starvation and the immune system, and also the part about how if the body is deprived of oxygen it turns to sugar metabolism for energy.  I still can't believe I feel normal and well since getting on stabilized liquid oxygen drops 6 weeks ago.

16.  DOM'S UPDATE

I've been feeling great for 6 weeks now!  The oxygen drops have made all the difference!  My piano and guitar students are having a recital Friday night October 16 - and the following week we have revival at church with Dr. Bill Stafford (he was in the movie "Fireproof" about saving a troubled marriage).  After all this is over, Lord willing, I plan to make a long overdue visit to my mother's house 51 miles away!  That isn't far, but my long-time readers know that I have not been able to travel since working in toxic mold in 2004-2005.  I have debilitating fatigue and brain fog to the point of collapse if I ride in a car more than about 25 minutes.  My husband said it was like I wasn't getting enough oxygen, but I never knew what to do about it.  I talked to my doc about getting on oxygen, but he said my blood oxygen was okay.  I tried OPC's and they helped for awhile, but whenever I got under stress, I crashed again.  The brain pain and crushing heart feelings were just torturous, but I had to keep on working (and smiling) although I felt like collapsing!  These oxygen drops have given me my life back!!  They also alkalize the body's pH, and I think that is a main reason they help.  I hope the drops will help others with these horrible symptoms too.  I have had FMS/CFIDS since 1982 and after suffering for 14 years with excruciating pain, I began to find things that helped in 1996 - listed at www.fms-help.com/what.htm.  But then the mold exposure www.fms-help.com/mold.htm really set me back terribly.   The oxygen drops address what Dr. Majid Ali called "the 3 furies of fibromyalgia:  oxidosis, dyxoxygenosis, and acidosis."  I actually became interested in pH balance 25 years ago - but that was before the internet and information was scarce.  Also, the charts about what foods are acidic and which are alkaline contradict eachother.  To top it off, even if you eat a highly alkaline diet (very hard to do), if you get under severe stress your body will still become highly acidic and foil any plans you have to stay more healthily alkaline.  SO, STRESS REALLY DOES PLAY A ROLE IN STARTING OUR FMS/CFIDS CONDITION!   Check out the occupations of my readers at www.fms-help.com/occupation.htm.  These drops are evidently keeping my more alkaline. If you decide to try them, BUY THE BOOK!  It explains it all (but excuse the typos).  If you don't get the book, you are in danger of using the drops incorrectly!  I bought the "kit" (oxygen drops, book, and DMSO for cold sores).  I was surfing this site at the suggestion of a reader who sent me a lot of info about immuno-deficiency and managing cold sore outbreaks, a terrible problem for me for the past 10 years.  You apply the DMSO cream (this brand smells pleasantly floral) and the virus can't replicate.  Really amazing!  I will keep you posted, but so far it's been 5 weeks and no fatigue, fog, or cold sores.  What a wonderful blessing this has been.  Now I see how easy it is for "normal" people to work and function.  No more "boulder-rolling" for me!
