Below are 10 short
topics for my very busy readers.
1.
ANTIDEPRESSANTS - "AMERICA FOOLED"
From a reader--
"Have just read a fascinating new
book: "AMERICA FOOLED, the Truth about
Antidepressants,
Antipsychotics and How We've Been Deceived." (Author:
Dr.
Timothy Scoot, Argo Pub.)
I don't know that anyone actually believes
our government doesn't work
with hidden agendas. This book of
exemplary research - easy read style
- exposes the unbelievable monetary
links between pharmaceuticals and
the FDA. "...should be
required reading for anyone considerting
taking psychatric medications; more
important, it should be required
reading for any doctor that might prescribe
psychiatric medications."
(quote from Dr. on cover) I
wholeheartedly agree! I'm now trying to
get off of EVERYTHING I take
that has the FDA's stamp of approval. I
find more comfort now in "not
approved by the FDA!" Don't be
intimidated by the size, I
couldn't put it down."
2. CYMBALTA
(revisited)
From a reader--
"I see some people that write that have not
had good luck with Cymbalta but I wanted to say that I have been taking it just
for a couple of months and it has been very helpful not in completely
removing depression but it has helped to take away the terrible 'emptiness' and
deepest depression that I was having."
3. MERCURY
FILLING REMOVAL (revisited)
Reader #1--
"I had all my mercury fillings removed (5 or
6) about 16 years ago and it
made absolutely no difference to my
fibromyalgia. (If only it were that
easy!)"
Reader #2--
"I too had the mercury fillings removed from
my mouth a little over a year ago, and my pain level dropped
significantly overnight. I was amazed. So put me in the
camp of “it helps,” even though I totally get it that every person and their
body is different. If other fibromites
out there are having mercury or other heavy metal medical “issues,” I strongly
suggest they see an osteopathic or naturopathic doctor. There is an oral
chelation therapy protocol out there that is very helpful in removing heavy
metals from the tissues of the body. It is a slow process (4-6 months),
but it works and is much safer overall than chelation therapy done as an
IV. Most medical literature you will read suggests that IV chelation
therapy be reserved for emergency situations (like military or industrial
exposures, the type of situation for which it was
invented)."
Reader #3--
"In response to mercury removal,
it needs to be done properly or you could end up with more in your system.
They need to put an oxygen mask on you so you don't breath the
vapors, very important! I also had a Vit. C IV during the
removal to grab any mercury that got into my system. I can't say
that it helped me any but I figured it was better to get it out."
4. ROZEREM
(revisited)
From a reader--
"Seems like for every success story there is a horror
story! I took Rozerem but it made my insomnia worse. More
power to the reader whom it helped!"
[FROM DOMINIE: There seems
to be no "magic bullet" for curing our FMS/CFIDS woes. No wonder doctors
are baffled by us. My own list of things I tried for sleep and how
they worked for me is at www.fms-help.com/sleep.htm.]
5. CHRONIC FATIGUE
SYNDROME IS REAL
Got this link from our church organist, who is a good
friend and one of the few people in my life who understands FMS/CFIDS--

|
 |
|
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Campaign Launched -
U.S. health officials stress
disease is real, though treatments remain
elusive | | |
Here's a short snippet from the article:
"According to Dr. William Reeves, of the CDC's National Center
for Infectious Diseases, the level of impairment experienced by people with
chronic fatigue syndrome is comparable to that of
multiple
sclerosis,
AIDS, end-stage
renal failure and
chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease. One CFS patient, Adrianne Ryan, said that sometimes
taking a walk or a shower was too much, and resulted in her collapsing for weeks
afterwards. Ryan is a former marathoner."
6. SOMEONE
UNDERSTANDS
From a reader--
[FROM DOMINIE: If you need
help dealing with people who are skeptical of fibromyalgia or say it's "all in
your head," see my page at www.fms-help.com/skeptics.htm.]
7. WHEN WE ARE
IN PAIN AND MISERY
Just got this email from a reader and I sure needed it the day
it arrived, because I was having a great pity party! Watch the
video....it's amazing to say the least!--
"When we are in pain
and misery, we have tendency towards developing imbalanced view of
ourselves. We either may feel utterly worthless, forgotten and one
who does not mount to much, or visa versa may think the whole world should live,
breathe and think our pain or otherwise or they are labeled
"uncaring". The video here helps one see how magnificent and grand
the universe is and what a speck we all are , and as the scripture says " all
the nations combined do not add up but to a grain of dust on weighing scales"
but on the other hand helps us realize there is a creator who is fully in charge
, able to see and care for both the large and the very small, specially
each one of us. All he wants us to do is to come to him and "throw our anxieties
upon him", and he takes it from there.
Best
regards
Henry
8. CHRISTMAS
BLUES?
I wrote this a few years ago
www.fms-help.com/Christmas.htm,
and I think it's still helpful. Sometimes I get emotional during the
holidays thinking about my dad www.fms-help.com/eulogy.htm - he
was the kind of person who could only cause unhappiness by his absence. My
husband read me a book recently called 90 Minutes in Heaven by
Don Piper. It was about a pastor who was killed in a car wreck, went to
heaven, but came back to life 90 minutes later. This happened 15 years
ago. It's an amazing, true story and it helped me a great deal to know
that my dad is in heaven and I have not felt so sad anymore.
9. ESSENTIAL
OILS
Visit my site at http://dom.younglivingworld.com and order the free
report called "Seven Essential Oils." Fascinating reading! It's
another avenue of help for us. Also, subscribe to my OILS NEWSLETTER to
learn along with me about essential oils. Send an email to dom@fms-help.com
and request my OILS NEWSLETTER.
10. DOM'S
UPDATE
For anyone who doesn't have
enough problems of their own and wants to read about mine--
For the past few weeks, I've
been battling a miserable cold/sinus thing that I caught from my piano students,
many of whom come to lessons sick, coughing, sneezing, blowing their nose,
etc. We sit together on the piano bench and I'm constantly inhaling their
germs. We use antibacterial gel on our hands, but that hasn't
helped.
I've now missed several days
of teaching, and there's no "sick pay" so I have to get back to work
pronto. I've tried just about every remedy known to man and this
thing hasn't budged. There are two problems--
One, I never recovered fully
from the lung problem I got from working in toxic mold last
year.
Two, my husband pointed out
that I didn't take my immune powder for 3 days and was lax using the essential
oils. (In my defense, I was feeling fairly good and got lazy.....that's
when the viruses moved in for the kill!)
Yesterday I went to the
doctor for the second time, and it was determined to be partly an
allergy problem. About 15 years ago, I was on allergy shots. I
would give myself 4 shots a week. They helped some, but then 6 months
later I moved cross country. My allergist's office continued to mail the
vials to me, but eventually I stopped taking the shots. Moving out of damp
Florida to dry Colorado seemed to helped some, but not completely.
Well, I have been back in
Florida for 14 years now and live inland. Evidently when
our immune system is busy fighting allergens, it doesn't have the resources to
work very hard to fight other things - like cold viruses. I can only
hope this new antibiotic I'm on, plus another allergy med and nasal spray does
the job. I am not going to get lax again in using the two things I
know have helped me the most - the immune powder and essential oils.
It's a lot easier to maintain your health than to crawl back up the
cliff you have fallen off of to get well again!
I've been turned down
repeatedly for health insurance due to fibromyalgia being on my medical records
(they said since fibromyalgia affects a person from head to foot, they would
have to exclude my entire body!), but I was "grateful" to get a
"hospitalization only" policy a few years ago. The trouble is, this policy
doesn't cover things I could actually use, like doctor visits, blood tests,
allergy serums, etc., etc.
Well, I hope you will
have a blessed Christmas season. I am happily busy with music
responsibilities at church and also teaching my piano students www.fms-help.com/students.htm
(who I really can't say never gave me anything......hahaha!!!!!)
The only thing that would
make my life better is improved health and strength - a quest I have been on
all my life. I hope you will enjoy my site at http://www.fms-help.com/ where I share a lot
of interesting info on FMS/CFIDS and tips for coping with this illness on a
daily basis.
Yours
truly,
Dominie
